Chickasaws win a thriller

An extra game on the New Hampton schedule gave the Chickasaws just what they needed Thursday — their first five-set match of the season. 
The seventh-ranked team in 1A — Wapsie Valley — battled seventh-ranked 3A New Hampton to the wire before the Chickasaws pulled out a victory with a final set 16-14 win.
New Hampton was only supposed to play one match last week as Decorah came to town Tuesday. That night also ended in a Chickasaw victory as, after losing the first set 25-21, the host team bounced back with three straight wins.
