Chickasaws run over Forest City

Lead Summary

The New Hampton football coaches dangled pizza in front of their players Friday night, and they literally ran to get their slices.
“They told us if we ran for 250 yards on Forest City’s defense, they’d have a pizza party for the team,” senior center Austin Hemann said and then added with a laugh, “and who’s going to turn down pizza?”
A week after gaining just 18 yards on the ground in an emotional homecoming victory over Waverly-Shell Rock, the Chickasaws pounded Forest City with 289 rushing yards on 57 carries as New Hampton rolled to a 43-7 victory in the Class 2A, District 3 opener for both squads.
