Chickasaws land three on all-NEIC
Picking New Hampton all-conference players might have been especially hard this year with the depth and talent the Chickasaws displayed. But since coaches can’t vote for their own players, it was out of coach Jess Geerts’ hands entirely.
New Hampton earned one all-conference first team spot as Savannah Anderson was named to that team, junior Lauren Frerichs was a second team pick and sophomore Rachel Rinken landed on the honorable mention team.
Every player selected to the NEIC first team was a senior, including Anderson.
In all matches, Anderson was third in the conference with her 318 kills and second with 3.21 kills per set. The Chickasaw senior aced 50 times, that was sixth in the NEIC and her average of .71 aces per set was fifth.
“Savannah has really developed into an outstanding player all around,” said Geerts. “I feel she really left it all on the court this season, swinging hard every time and playing some tough defense in the back row.”
