Chickasaws land four on all-state teams

Lead Summary

New Hampton football coach Scott Frerichs put it simply when he was asked about the four Chickasaws — seniors Josh Fenske, Braydon Fisher and Tyler Rentschler and junior Noah Fenske — who landed on the Iowa Newspaper Association’s Class 2A all-state teams.
“All of these players really like the game of football,” he said, “and it showed with what they accomplished on the football field.”
Josh Fenske repeated his first-team selection of a year ago and was selected as a linebacker, Rentschler was a second-team offensive lineman pick while Fisher was on the same team as a running back and Noah Fenske made the third team.
“They were obviously key members of our team,” said Frerichs, who led the Chickasaws to an 8-3 overall record, a Class 2A, District 2 championship and a spot in the quarterfinal round of the state playoffs.
The older Fenske led the Chickasaws in tackles for a third-straight year as he was credited with a career-high 94 tackles. He also led the Chickasaws in tackles for loss with 11.5 and tied for the team lead with 5.5 sacks.
