Chickasaws host volleyball invite Saturday

New Hampton will be in Pool B when the annual Chickasaw Volleyball Invitational gets underway Saturday. The event, now in its 34th year, starts with pool play at 9 a.m.
Each pool will have four teams, with Sumner-Fredericksburg, South Winneshiek and Denver joining the Chickasaws in Pool B and Waterloo East, Don Bosco, Saint Ansgar and Tripoli in Pool A. 
In the preseason rankings, Tripoli is sixth in Class 1A.
New Hampton will start against South Winneshiek, then will play Denver and end pool play against Sumner-Fred. The semifinals, with the winners from one pool taking on the runner-up from the other pool are next, with a consolation match followed by the finals.
No coolers will be allowed in the gym, as a concession stand will be provided with pizza and the usual other good stuff.
