Chickasaws are third in NEIC

Lead Summary

The oldest prep conference wrestling tournament in the state of Iowa has seen tremendous champions finish off their careers in style at the tradition-rich league meet.
Numerous state champions have been crowned at the Northeast Iowa Conference’s league get together that is as power-packed as one conference meet can be with just seven teams.
New Hampton/Turkey Valley’s Carson Babcock and Jacob Reicks etched their name in the record books on Saturday with two conference championships - but they’re still wanting much more.
Since 1948 - three years after the official end of World War II - the NEIC has honored its best grapplers that have risen to the top of the podium stand.
For Babcock and Reicks, this is just the start of what could be something very special after they won their weight brackets at 170 and 195 pounds, respectively.
“Carson and Jacob wrestled well and we are able to get each of their names on the walls of our wrestling room forever. I am very proud of them and I am looking forward to watching them finish out their senior years strong,” said NH/TV head coach Matt Paulus.
More results from the tournament may be found in the Feb. 2 Tribune.
