Chickasaw girls get back on track

Lead Summary

Down by double digits about halfway through the third quarter, New Hampton put the pressure on Waukon Friday night, caused some turnovers and hit some key 3-point shots to battle back.  “It was a lot of fun to watch, we played with a lot of confidence and toughness,” began coach Matt Schult. “To be down by that much in the third quarter, a lot of teams would just cave, but not our girls.”  Long shots by Lauren Frerichs, Darian Wegner and Isabel Leichtman led to a tie score by the time the end of the third quarter rolled around, 40-40. New Hampton would win the conference rivalry, 62-55.  The rest of the story may be found in the Jan. 17 Tribune.
