Chickasaw girls are second in Class 3A

Lead Summary

The Class 3A Girls State Tournament concluded at the Lake Panorama National Golf Course Wednesday. Although New Hampton was unable to catch Atlantic for the title, the Chickasaw girls improved to 45-1 for the season as the runner-up team.
Morgan Nuss led the NH girls with her two-day total of 172, which was the ninth-best score and Allison Nuss was tied for 11th with a 173. Valerie Rinken and Mya Anderson also finished one stroke apart, Rinken 14th with a 177 and Anderson tied for 15th at 178. Ellie Ewert tied for 18th with a 183 and Jayden Usher's total was tied for 38th at 210. There were 56 golfers participating.
Atlantic finished with a 689, 11 strokes under the New Hampton score of 700.
"We got beat by a very good team," said coach Eric Olson. "They've won the title three of of the last four years. A lot of years a 700 wins it, but not this one."
