Chickasaw boys achieve goal No. 1

It was not exactly the start — bogey, double bogey — Ryan Anderson envisioned Friday at the Class 2A sectional boys golf meet.
“It wasn’t like I could go back and change those holes,” the New Hampton senior said, “so I was just thinking I’d better get my crap figured out and hit a good tee shot on three. I’ve played a long enough time to know that in this sport, you’d better have a short memory and just look forward.”
And he did exactly that as he settled down on his way to a medalist-tying round of 77 to help the Chickasaws to the team title, which is all he and his teammates really cared about when they arrived at the New Hampton Golf and Country Club Friday morning.
