Jamie Ohrt will be the first one to admit that she was shocked Saturday morning.Not only did a majority of those who pre-registered for the New Hampton Running Club 5K Run/Walk show up, but so, too, did 10 people who decided it was a good morning for a run or a walk.“That surprised me since it was 13 degrees when the race started,” said Ohrt, the New Hampton cross country coach whose team has started the new club to not only prepare for the cross country season but also promote the activity of running. “If this race wasn’t for the running club, I’m telling you I would have debated staying home.”— For more on this story, see the April 10 New Hampton Tribune.
