Board of Supervisors approves economic development requests

After meeting with Fredericksburg Economic Development officials in recent weeks, the Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors approved resolutions last week giving incentives to two businesses there for job creation and retention.In both cases, new owners purchased existing businesses.Justin and Kacey Gansen purchased Rick’s Service Center on Jan. 1 from Diana Hammond and since then, they have added an employee.Justin worked at the service center for 13 years as a mechanic and will continue in that capacity. Previously, Casey worked at Croell in accounting and inventory. She is now full-time at Rick’s.In the resolution, Rick’s proposes creating five jobs within two years and a job retention period of five years.Cathy Busch purchased the Farm House Winery and Bed and Breakfast from Loren and Dianna Engelbrecht at the end of June and will continue it as a winery, event barn and bed and breakfast.— For more on this story, see the March 19 New Hampton Tribune.
