Blazek wins girls division at Waukon Invite Tuesday

Lead Summary

Going into the meet last Tuesday at Waukon, Turkey Valley cross country coach Sarah Bakula tasked each individual on her team with doing one simple thing - to set a goal.
“Big or small, I just wanted everyone to shoot for something,” she said. “I thought this helped going into the meet.”
And while Jalyssa Blazek’s goal was to relax and run her race, the sophomore was able to achieve much more than that. She won the girls division with a time of 20:27. This was only four seconds quicker than runner-up Kenna Meisgeier of Starmont.
