Heading into the district meet on Thursday, the Turkey Valley cross country team had high hopes for Jalyssa Blazek’s chance to qualify for the state competition.
Although they defeated Waukon two times during the regular season, coach Jess Geerts didn’t take New Hampton’s regional opening match against the Indians lightly. It paid off, as the Chickasaws were able to sweep Waukon 3-0.
