The Turkey Valley baseball team inched closer to its first victory, as they played their tightest game of the season last week. In this matchup, the Trojans fell to MFL-Mar-Mac 13-8. This was the first contest of a doubleheader on Monday.

After suffering their first two losses of the season two weeks ago, the New Hampton baseball team bounced back in a big way this past week, outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 30-1, as they improved their record to 17-2.

Russell A. Howe, Jr., age 76 of Lawler,  passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his home.

William “Willie” C. Ludwig, age 86, of Elma, passed away on June 12, 2019, at his home in Elma.

Max Evan Steege, 82, of Swisher, formerly of New Hampton, moved on from this life to the next on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Per Max’s wishes, there will be no services.

The Turkey Valley baseball team suffered a defeat in their lone contest last week, as Waukon claimed victory on their home field 10-0 in six innings on Wednesday.

When the state trapshooting meet came to an end on Sunday, there was one Turkey Valley shooter who could call herself the best - Kaylie Klimesh. 

When the ball sailed over the fence in Turkey Valley’s second game against Central Elkader Wednesday, Shayla Kuennen didn’t realize it hit the scoreboard, then bounced back onto the field.
