A small but talented field
The South Winn cross country team needs to look no further than their own back yard for some of the best competition in the state; Decorah won both the boys and girls team standings in the South Winn Invitational held Tuesday. While South Winn has a number of runners to choose from, the Turkey Valley contingent running with the Warriors was always on the small side — five girls and five boys. But those numbers reached a season low at the invite at five Trojans total. Sadie Nymeyer led the list of three Trojan runners in the girls field competing with a 26th place finish of 109 runners with a time of 21:41, her fastest time of the season.
