More Chickasaws to return to Wartburg

Lead Summary

For three former New Hampton football players who now wear the orange and black of Wartburg, last Saturday wasn’t so much an ending as a beginning.  The 2016 season was history, and Connor  Frerichs, Trevor Ambrose and Matt Mulford can now set their sights on the 2017 campaign.  Frerichs had a breakout sophomore season while Ambrose and Mulford, as most freshmen do at Wartburg, saw limited varsity time.  The two freshmen definitely have an example to follow in their old high school teammate as Frerichs finished third on the team with 66 tackles and was second on the team  with three interceptions.  Not bad for a guy who began his college career as a linebacker but made the move to the secondary this season.  More on the story may be found in the Nov. 18 Tribune.
