Turkey Valley's Blazek takes sixth at state cross country
Turkey Valley’s Jalyssa Blazek capped a standout freshman cross country season Saturday as she ran to a sixth-place finish at the Class 1A state meet.Blaek finished the race in 19:59.3 to earn a medal in her first-ever state meet, while teammate Jaycie Byrne, who is a sophomore took 40th in a time of 21:21.1. Nashua-Plainfield’s Chloe Matthews also came home with a top-50 finish as she finished 49th in a time of 21:33.3.Meanwhile, New Hampton’s Nolan Usher capped an outstanding cross country career with a 56th-place finish as he completed the course in 18:02.2.
