Turkey Valley gets off to quick start on the court

Lead Summary

The margin of victory in the Turkey Valley girls’ 81-31 season-opening win over West Central probably wasn’t a big surprise, last year the Lady Trojans played the Blue Devils twice and won by 45-and 49-point margins.    Turkey Valley’s boys finished the night Monday with a Trojan sweep as they also cruised to a win, 69-28.    The 41-point margin for the boys was a more dominating win with a higher point total than they had all of last year. While their 57 percent overall shooting percentage was impressive, their 23 assists against the Blue Devils beat the best TV game last year — 18 assists in their final regular season game — and the Trojans also finished with four more steals [20] than their best effort a year ago.    But at the end of the first quarter the score was close, with an 11-8 Trojan lead.  Details of each game may be found in the Dec. 2 Tribune.
