Rallying and somehow advancing

Lead Summary

The play called for Isaac Chambers to use a screen from teammate Dawson Schmitt and get a short jumper.  Instead, the Nashua-Plainfield sophomore improvised just a bit.  “I saw I had a pretty clear path to the basket and the way my jumper had been falling — or not falling — I went with it,” Chambers said, “and thankfully I got the layup.”  As the ball made its way down the net, the clock showed less than a second, and Nashua-Plainfield had completed a furious comeback Monday night to beat Clarksville 42-40 and extend its season.  The first-round Class 1A district victory advanced the Huskies to a date with seventh-ranked Don Bosco tonight [Thursday] in Ackley.  More on the story may be found in the Feb. 16 Reporter.
