Pair of Trojans to All-UIC

Two Turkey Valley seniors were named to the Upper Iowa Conference honorable mention list at the end of what was a rebuilding year for the team. Trojan hitters Brooke Herold and Morgen Kuennen were placed on the list among players in the 11-team conference.    Among the small schools in the UIC, Turkey Valley was 2-3 for the season, in a 3-way tie for third place. Overall, they struggled through a 9-22 season, but with a great deal of improvement from the start to the finish.    Although serve efficiency was not a strength of the Lady Trojans, serving aces was — they were first in the conference in aces per set with 2.97 in all games during the season.    In UIC matches alone, Kuennen was fifth with .88 aces per set and in all matches she aced .51 times per set, which was 10th in the conference.  For the full UIC list, along with the rest of the story, please see the Nov. 4 Tribune.
