Julianna ‘Julie’ Drilling, 58

Julianna “Julie” Drilling, age 58 of Nashua, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, surrounded by her family at home.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City with Sister Diana Blong from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiating. 

Burial followed at Riverton Cemetery, at Midway, in rural Charles City.

A visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Julianna Marie (Hoy) Drilling, the daughter of Roger Hoy and Margaret Matthes, was born on April 23, 1963 in Charles City. 

She attended school in Charles City. 

On Dec. 26, 1981, she was united in marriage to Mark Huxsol. To this union, they had one daughter, Samantha. After his passing in 1994, she later married Mark Drilling on May 6, 2005.

Julie worked for New Look Metal in Nashua and was a manager at Pizza Hut in Charles City for many years. 

She liked to spend her time outdoors gardening, fishing, and sewing. She also enjoyed attending concerts, traveling, and gambling. Above everything in her life, she loved spending time with her husband and her grandchildren.

Living family members include her husband, Mark; daughter, Samantha Koskie; grandchildren: Jaden, Alexander, Kelsie, and Madison; father, Roger (Sally) Hoy; stepdaughter, Jamie (John) Roney; step-grandchildren: Caroline (Derek) Hedrick, Nicholas Roney, and Emma Roney; stepson, Dalton Prochaska; siblings: Joe Hoy, Mindy (Gary) Weeks, Brandy Wolfe, and Jessica (Dave) Beil; along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret (Jim) Reed; husband, Mark Huxsol; grandson, Reiley Huxsol; and grandparents, Harold and Irene “Granam” Matthes.
