More than just a jar of change

Trace Dungey was adamant.“You really have to see this,” he said as he took the reporter into his office at the new Dungey’s Furniture and Flooring store. “I mean it will blow you away.”And there, next to pictures of his three children, sat a jar — one filled with coins that had obviously been through one whale of a fire.“Joyce made one each for Mark and me,” said one of the brothers who owns the store.Joyce, of course, is Joyce Laures, who has will soon celebrate her 36th anniversary as an employee at Dungey’s.As Trace Dungey talked that day, his voice cracked with emotion, for Laures gave the brothers a gift they will never forget.“It means ... you know, it just ... meant the world to us.”
