Money's nice, but awarness is key at 'Cookin' for a Cause'
For Rick Kramer, the money raised for a proposed new bike trail in New Hampton by State Bank’s “Cookin’ for a Cause” might be secondary to something else.Oh, don’t get the New Hampton Parks and Recreation Director wrong, he appreciates the dollars raised by State Bank Friday.But maybe the best part of the event was the fact that so many New Hampton residents either learned or were reminded about the proposed TRIBE Trail.“The money’s great, and we really do need it,” Kramer said, “but at the same time, it’s keeping the trail out there that is really important. Events like this really help band the community together for this project.”State Bank Vice President Grant Anderson said the bank wanted to help promote the trail that will eventually connect Mikkelson Park with the Industrial Park trail.— For more on this story, see the July 26 Tribune
