It’s a perfect night for a hike
The weather was perfect — well, almost — and the Exhibit A was the number of people who turned out for Tuesday evening’s Halloween Hikes at Twin Ponds Nature Center.“A frost last night would have cut down on the mosquitoes,” Chickasaw County Conservation Board Naturalist Matt Crayne said, “but otherwise, we couldn’t have asked for anything better.”The Halloween Hikes are a longstanding tradition with the Conservation Board as it has sponsored them for more than 20 years. And the idea is simple: Get people of all ages — some in costume, some not — for a walk through the woods that includes a little education about the wild. For the complete story see the 10/14/2016 New Hampton Tribune.
