Huskies endure tough week on the court
Maybe Nashua-Plainfield’s first-year volleyball coach has the right attitude when it comes to last week.“We’re going to learn from it and move on,” Amber Carter said after her team dropped a Top of Iowa East Division tilt to Central Springs and then went 0-4 at the Aplington-Parkersburg Invitational on Saturday. “We got away from playing as a team, and we just can’t do that.”The Huskies fell to 2-2 in the Top of Iowa with the 25-22, 25-18, 25-21 loss to Central Springs.“We had moments, for sure,” Carter said, “but we weren’t that consistent. “We can play with a team like that, but I think our inexperience showed quite a bit.”Nashua-Plainfield got a solid match from Britney Holthaus, who had a team-high six kills and 11 digs while finishing 8-for-9 serving.Sierra Fisher was 16-for-19 serving with three aces while both Morgan Kapping and Bailey Weiss each added two service aces.The rest of the story may be found in the Sept. 15 Reporter.
