Homecoming for all!
Melissa Nelson’s goal is pretty simple when it comes to New Hampton High School’s homecoming celebration this week.“We want the whole town involved,” said Nelson, the art teacher who serves as the advisor to the Student Senate that plans the annual event, “because homecoming is more than just a school activity, it’s a community event.”So if you walk into your favorite business on Wednesday and feel like you’ve time warped back into the 1980s, it’s because of homecoming. Not only are the windows of downtown businesses painted to conjure up “school spirit” but residents throughout the community are being asked to take part in the “dress-up days” students are having this week. After celebrating America on Monday, today [Tuesday] is “Twister Tuesday,” which means if you feel like a senior, wear orange; a junior, wear blue; a sophomore, wear purple; or a freshman, wear green. For the complete story see the 9/20/2016 New Hampton Tribune.
