Douglas L. Mack, of Charles City, formerly of New Hampton, IA lost his life due to injuries sustained from a tragic car accident on Friday, April 20, 2018.A Memorial Service has been set for 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton, IA with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Carrol Cemetery in Ionia, IA.Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton, IA and will continue at the church one hour prior to the memorial service on Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to the family.Douglas Lee was born May 28, 1957 to Lorris and Gloria (Coen) Mack in Charles City, Iowa. He attended and graduated from New Hampton High School. After graduating, Doug worked on the family farm and at Sara Lee. In November of 1979, Doug was united in marriage to Angeleen McGrane at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia, IA. The couple had three daughters, Amanda, Amelia and Andrea and later divorced. Doug drove a feed truck for a short time and has worked for Phillip’s Modern Ag for the past 30 years. Doug became reacquainted with longtime friend, Stacey Finnegan-Salinas. The couple fell in love and were engaged to be married. Doug enjoyed hunting, golfing, gardening, and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of Pheasants Forever. His girls and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Throughout the years, he taught them the value of hard work and the joys of life. Doug will be deeply missed by so many family and friends.Those left to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Stacey Finnegan-Salinas of Charles City, IA; his daughters, Amanda (Steve) Badger of Eldridge, IA and Andrea (Tony Santacroce) Mack of Manchester, NH; his grandchildren; Stacey’s children; Ashley Salinas of Charles City, IA; Eric Salinas of Waterloo, IA and Tyler Salinas of Cedar Falls, IA; his siblings, Deborah (Danny) Weiss Mallon of Denver, CO and Donna Salazar of Harlingen, TX; his step-father, Ivan Johannaber and nephew, Andrew Weiss.He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorris and Gloria and his cherished little girl, Amelia in 2002.
