Dorothy Schaudenecker, age 96 of New Hampton, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Holy Family Parish in New Hampton, with Father Brian Dellaert celebrating.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Hampton.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. Scriptural Wake Service.  Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral mass on Tuesday. Online condolences for Dorothy’s family may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com.  Memorials may be directed to the family. Dorothy Maxine was born on Dec. 16, 1920 to Harry and Ruby (Cox) Wilson in New Hampton.  She attended country schools and graduated from New Hampton High School.  Upon graduation, Dorothy attended Upper Iowa University and graduated with her teaching certificate.  On November 25, 1943, Dorothy was united in marriage to Joseph “Joe” Schaudenecker at St. Mary’s Rectory in New Hampton.  To this union, three children were born, Gary, Gail, and Sue.  Dorothy spent her life as a country school teacher, farmwife and homemaker.  She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, socializing at the Chickasaw Event Center and traveling.  She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Las Amigas Club, and 500 Card Club.  Dorothy most enjoyed visiting with her family and sharing big meals.Dorothy is survived by her children, Gary (Marilyn) Schaudenecker of Alta Vista, Gail Schaudenecker of Decorah and Sue (Rocky) Burgart of New Hampton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; one sister, Millie Cooper of Kansas City, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe in 2007; and her sister, Shirley Wilson.
