Deborah (Stoner) Turner dies at 87
Deborah (Stoner) Turner age 87, died February 11, 2017, at Shell Lake Health Care Center in Shell Lake, Wisc. Deborah was born in Des Moines, the daughter of Alva and Henrietta Ston- er. Debbie was a resident of Nashua, where she was a beloved first grade school teacher for many years. She was also a lifetime summer resident of Webb Lake, Wisc. where her family cottage provided many happy hours and memories with her family and friends. Debbie headed for the cottage as soon as school was out and returned in time for its beginning in the fall. Debbie was preceded in death by her father Alva in 1952, her mother Henrietta in 2000 and her many beloved feline friends. Debbie was well known in Nashua and Wisconsin, as a loving, generous, spirited person who always had an interesting story to tell and who always wore the signature scent of Calvin Klein’s Eternity. She had a vast collection of gifts given to her by the many children she had taught over the years and she truly cherished all of them. Debbie enjoyed pontoon rides on Des Moines Lake with her friends and family as well as spending time with animals especially cats, though she truly loved all animals. She had a love for antiques and a passion for all varieties of flowers and was a frequent patron at Indianhead Flora Garden & Gift in Spooner Wisc. Debbie was a long time member of the Nashua, PEO, and served on various committees over the years. She will sadly be missed by her many friends and students. A memorial service has been planned for April 1, 2017 at the Webb Lake, Wisc. Town Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a luncheon provided. A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials in her memory may be sent to the Nashua PEO, % Tracy McGregor, 1065 250th St, Nashua,IA 50658 to go toward their annual Scholarship fund.
