Chickasaws' substate game will be played at 1 in Mason City

New Hampton and South Hamilton will meet in a Class 2A substate game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
New Hampton Activities Director Brad Schmitt said he had been in contact with both South Hamilton and Mason City officials, as well as weather forecasters, and the decision was made to play the game.
Although much of Iowa received a coat of ice overnight, Schmitt said the main highways were in good driving condition and the snow and wind that is "Part II" of a winter storm affecting the area this weekend, isn't expected to move into the area until later tonight.
'I just drove to Charles City and the roads are good," Schmitt said, "so we're hoping we have a lot of people turn out in red today."
