Chickasaws endure rough season opener

Lead Summary

Chad Sweitzer stood in the hallway at New Hampton High School and shook his head.  He knows one game does not make a season — especially when it comes against a Class 4A school with a Division I recruit — but it didn’t take a rocket scientist to realize Sweitzer was not happy.  “We played, especially in the first half, like there was a 10-second shot clock,” he said after Cedar Rapids Washington blitzed his Chickasaws 78-52, “we didn’t get back on defense, we treated the basketball like it was a hot potato and honestly, we didn’t rebound that well. Besides that, it was great.”  More on the story may be found in the Dec. 2 Tribune.
