Bruce A. Kellogg, age 66, of Ionia, IA passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.


A visitation for Bruce will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Ionia Funeral Home with a 6:00 Scriptural Wake Service and a Celebration of Life at the Hide-A-Way for friends and family immediately following the scripture service.
Burial will be held at a later date.

Bruce Allen was born February 24, 1953 to Dale and Wilma (Martin) Kellogg in Charles City, IA. He attended New Hampton High School. After high school, he was employed at the farm of Dale Adams.
He later married, Sharon Adams on June 29, 1974 at the Little Brown Church. The couple made their home in Ionia where they welcomed three children, Jereb, Malinda and Ross.
In 1988, Bruce purchased the Hide-A-Way Lounge in Ionia with Dennis Stolz. Together they owned and operated the Hide-A-Way for twenty years.
Throughout his life, Bruce played football, softball, golf, pool and bowling. He could also be found trap shooting. His entire life he was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish, hunt, and trap. Some of his favorite memories were going to Montana to hunt and fish with his cousin Bernie Hildebrand. Bruce was a member of the Ionia Fire Department for several years.
In retirement, Bruce spent his time surrounded by his grandchildren and family. He lived his life as a proud man. He respected hard work and an honest living.


Those left to honor Bruce’s memory are his wife, Sharon of Ionia; his children, Jereb Kellogg, Malinda Kellogg both of Ionia, and Ross Kellogg of Cedar Falls, IA; his grandchildren, Jace, Jackson, Jaelyn, Jeb, Ava, Maxden, Brynnley, Sawyer, and Holden; his siblings, Leroy (Lynette) Kellogg of Ionia, Larry (Diane) Kellogg of Ionia, Sandra (Dan) Bucknell of Tripoli, IA, Leslie (Cindy) Kellogg of Ionia, Wayne Nathem of Waterloo, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mike Kellogg; sister, Bonnie Healy; nephew, Joe Kellogg.
