Barbara J. Duckett, age 70 of Ionia, passed away on March 2, 2018, at her home in Ionia.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in New Hampton, with Reverend Candraeah Carey officiating.  
Burial will be in New Hampton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in New Hampton. 
Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to Midwest Sheltie Rescue, 207 East Main, Ionia, IA 50616.

Barbara Jo Duckett was born on Jan. 6, 1948, to Raymond and Pauline (Wilson) DeWees in Chicago.  
The family moved to Shenandoah, where Barb graduated in 1966.  
She was united in marriage to John Becker and the family made their home in the Des Moines area.  
After John passed away, Barb was united in marriage to Rev. Robert Duckett on May 9, 1983.  In 1986, they moved to New Hampton, where Robert was the pastor at the Congregational United Church of Christ until he retired.  
Barb was a CPA for Quality Accounting in Waterloo. She also operated Accu Systems in Ionia and Nashua. 
Barb played piano and sang in the church choir.  She enjoyed gardening and especially her Sheltie dogs.  She started Midwest Sheltie Rescue in Ionia. 
Barbara is survived by her children, Tait (Julie) Duckett of Charles City, and Tevan (Lacey) Duckett of Charles City; very special friend, Jose Carrizales of Ionia; stepchildren, Ruth Waite of Star City, Ind., Benjamin Duckett of Indianapolis, and Mary “Bo” Duckett of  Ames; sister Jeannine Hamilton of Chula Vista, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Pauline DeWees; husbands John Becker and Robert Duckett; and brother Richard DeWees.
