After Luther meet called, Warriors head to Monticello

Lead Summary

After the Luther cross country invitational was called off due to wet conditions, the South Winn team had a Plan B, which was going to the Monticello meet the same day.“The Luther meet would have been a more competitive meet overall,” said coach Kevin Kearney, “Lots of 3A/4A type teams .... not just from Iowa, but from Wisconsin and Minnesota too.”    He continued, “However, Monticello was the most competitive 2A meet so far this season in the state. The meet gave us a good indication of where we are in relation to a lot of the best teams.”South Winn’s varsity girls and boys were both third among the 14 teams competingSadie Nymeyer was the only Turkey Valley runner in the varsity girls’ meet, as Shelby Reicks was not competing. For the remainder of the Turkey Valley results, please see the Sept. 13 Tribune.
