Alma Rose Gilbert dies at 89

Alma Rose (Langreck) Gilbert age 89 of New Hampton, died Friday Nov. 4, 2016 at Linn Haven Nursing Home in New Hampton.  Interment is at St. Mary’s Cemetery  in New Hampton.Alma was born May 16, 1927 to Herman and Rosa Langreck near St. Lucas.  She married LeRoy Gilbert of New Hampton.  Together they farmed in the New Hampton area for over 40 years, then they moved to Des Moines and Mason City.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and baking.   She is survived by children Denis (Rita) of Omaha, Nebraska, Gary (Pam) of Mason City, Diane (Casey) Swan of  Louisburg, Kansas, Alan (Ruth) of New Hampton, Warren of Mason City.  She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lori Schmidt (Cubby) and Emily Gilbert.   She had 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.Submitted by Warren Gilbert
