Turkey Valley lands 10 on all-district teams

Herold earns offensive player of the year honor; Scott coach of the year

It was a season that many won’t forget in 2021 for the Turkey Valley Trojan football team.

That’s why it was no surprise that the Trojans and head coach Mark Scott dominated the postseason awards handed out recently in 8-Player, District 3 play.

TV (9-1), which went a perfect 8-0 in the regular season, saw six Trojans crack the first-team all-district squad.

Scott was 8-Player, District 3 Coach of the Year for leading a squad that advanced to the second round of the playoffs before falling to Kee High, 42-40, in heartbreaking fashion.

TV senior running back Marcus Herold was named Offensive Player of the Year.

Joining Herold on the first team were seniors Collin Kleppe (OL), Dylan Reicks (RB), Garrett Kurtenbach (WR), as well as juniors Noah Hanson (QB) and Calvin Bodensteiner (CB). Carson Busta, a junior, along with junior Ryan Franzen, made the second-team all-district squad.

And district coaches tabbed TV junior Treyton Hulbert and senior Austin Kuehner for the honorable-mention team.
