Tim Hyke, 63

Tim Hyke, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at his home in Cresco, Iowa.

Timothy James Hyke was born on Sept. 6, 1958, in New Hampton, Iowa, the son of James and Arlene (Nibaur) Hyke.

He grew up in the Lourdes area where he attended school and later went to High School in Cresco. Tim married and had to two sons, Jeremy and Justin.

On Oct. 5, 2002, Tim married Barbara Rosonke at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  Tim and Barb enjoyed spending time together taking trips both near and far, or just staying close to home with their dog Cozee.

In the summer you could find Tim in the garden, raising tomatoes, kohlrabi and a garden full of veggies to share with family and friends.  He canned many jars of tomatoes, salsa and pickles over the years. Tim was a great cook and enjoyed barbecuing.

He loved to play bean bags and was happy to help organize local bean bags tournaments.  He enjoyed fishing and football, and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

There were many camping trips spent with family and friends telling stories and sharing a beer around the bonfire.

Tim liked rock music and attending Rock Fest, AC/DC and ZZ Top were at the top of his list of favorite bands.

Tim loved his family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Barb; son Jeremy (Roxanne) Hyke; two granddaughters, Ayla and Carys, sisters, Deb (Tim) Riley and Anna (Terry) Ollendieck; several brothers- and sisters in-law; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Justin, in infancy.

Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lourdes.  Visitation took place at the church two hours prior to the service. Burial took place in the church cemetery.
Lindstrom Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
