Austin Lee Rasing was born Oct. 6, 1992, in Waterloo, the son of Wayne and Marjorie (McGill) Rasing.
He received his education in New Hampton and was a graduate of the New Hampton High School Class of 2011.
Shortly after graduating, he adopted his dog Koa. He looked forward to coming home to her and the great joy she brought him.
Austin was a hard worker and could often be found helping his friends and family.
He met and began dating Samanda Parham in June 2016, and on Nov. 3, 2017, their son, Thompson Joseph Rasing was born. Their children meant the world to him. Spending time with his family brought him great happiness and joy.
He loved the outdoors, four-wheeling and spending time with his friends.
Every Nov. 1, Austin looked forward to going camping with the guys for a man’s retreat — a weekend of fun at Denny Walter’s, just southeast of Elkader. No girls allowed.
Austin was a trickster, and you never really knew what to expect from him. He liked to give his brothers guff any chance he could, and they did the same.
He will be greatly missed by those he left behind.
Survivors include his son, Thompson Rasing; his step-daughter, Jaicee Ford; the children’s mother, Samanda Parham; his parents, Wayne and Marge Rasing of New Hampton; two brothers, James Rasing and Andrew Rasing both of New Hampton; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edwin, and Anna Marie Rasing, James and Beatrice McGill.
