The Nashua-Plainfield High School gymnasium has a new look with new flooring, mats and lights.

N-P gearing up for 2017-18 school year

Nashua-Plainfield Junior High and High School Principal Scott Striegel can’t wait for Aug. 23.
“It’s why we do what we do,” he said when asked about the first day of classes in the school district. “It’s why we all got into education — to work with the kids and our fellow staff members.”
And when students arrive back at the 7-12 building, they will see some noticeable changes.
“We’ve done a lot of painting, we’ve redone the gym with the floor, painting and new lights,” Striegel said. “It’s the same building, but I’m telling you it looks like a new building. We’re ready to rock and roll, and our custodians have done a bang-up job getting us ready for the new school year.”
Classes may not begin before Aug. 23, but fall sports teams and the Nashua-Plainfield Marching Band are already going to work in preparation for their seasons, and a week from today on Thursday, Aug. 17, there will be a 6 p.m. parent-coaches meeting at the high school.
