Turkey Valley was sure to miss its starting quarterback Friday. Out with a sprained knee, Ethan Leibold had thrown for 474 yards this season and rushed for another 283 while the Trojans were going through their first five opponents.
And although Kee High had only one win on the season, they lost two games by four points or less and they were competitive in the other contests.
But Turkey Valley senior Kannon Leuenberger wasn’t worried. He had a ‘next man up’ approach to the game in which he was crowned 2019 Homecoming King at the half.
“We had faith in Kalvin [Langreck] at the quarterback spot,” said Leuenberger. “We were behind him all the way.”
