TV boys take charge at Kee
While most of us tried to stay out of the wind and chilly temperatures Thursday afternoon, Turkey Valley's track runners were competing in a coed meet at Kee High. "Oh, it wasn't that bad," Trojan junior Jordon Snyder said after winning both the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. "I mean, it was still windy, but their track is down in a hole so it wasn't terrible." The boys won the five-team meet, while the girls were third of four teams at Kee. Of the six individual events the boys won, two were captured by Snyder. After setting a personal record last week in the 1,600, he set one Thursday in the 3,200, but still wants to get lower. "It's nice that we won the meet as a team, we want to win districts," he said. "But I'd rather have more competition, in the bigger meets you get kids that are really fast and push you." Snyder's time in the 3,200 was about 40 seconds in front of the runner-up — teammate Isaac Franzen — but he feels he would have to drop another 30 seconds, at least, to qualify for state.
