Turkey Valley gets topped in trio of games
The Turkey Valley baseball team inched closer to its first victory, as they played their tightest game of the season last week. In this matchup, the Trojans fell to MFL-Mar-Mac 13-8. This was the first contest of a doubleheader on Monday.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings. Turkey Valley answered with four runs of their own between the third and fourth innings to cut the deficit to a single run. However, MFL-Mar-Mac posted eight scores in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to nine. The Trojans would cut this lead to five after a run in the sixth and a trio of scores in the seventh.
“We played better and put a few runs on the board,” coach Dan Stepan said. “We still need to execute better in all facets of the game.”
