Tupper takes a big step at the FFA convention

For a brief moment Tuesday evening, Michael Tupper wasn’t as cool as the proverbial cucumber.“I was a little bit of a nervous wreck,” the 2014 New Hampton High School graduate said. “It’s hard to explain, but when they gave me the envelope, there was a lot running through my head.”Inside that envelope was a letter that would tell Tupper if he was still in the running to become New Hampton’s first national FFA officer since 1971-72.A few minutes later, he opened it with his “support team” and saw the word — “congratulations” — that told him he still had a chance.“To say I was excited,” Tupper said, “would be a giant understatement.”For the complete story see the 10/21/2016 New Hampton Tribune.
