Trojan boys bounce back
If Turkey Valley’s boys were going to have an off night, a non-conference game is a good time. After losing to Tripoli Thursday, the Trojans had a chance to get their confidence back the next night, which they did with a 61-30 win over West Central.
After going up 19-7 at one point in the second quarter Thursday, the Trojans were outscored 12-1 to end the period, with a 20-19 lead at the half.
“We talk about the importance of each possession and closing out quarters being either even or above on that possession and we didn't do that,” said coach Chris Sullivan. “In the second half it was much of the same and we let them hang around and believe they could play with us.”
The Panthers won 45-44.
“This was a frustrating night throughout and we took steps backwards as a team tonight,” Sullivan continued. “The kids weren't mentally locked in and played on their heels all night instead of playing downhill and attacking pressure with our own pressure.“
