Sixth-inning rally works half the time against Vikings

Lead Summary

One was a win, one was a loss, but in both cases Turkey Valley’s baseball team rallied in the sixth inning when they played a doubleheader at Edgewood-Colesburg Monday.    The Trojan record went to 7-11 the next night as Oelwein played at Jackson Junction and won a slim 4-1 contest. In conference play Turkey Valley’s record is 5-5.    In game one at Ed-Co it took until the fourth inning for either team to push a run across. The Vikings used three singles, a sacrifice and a TV error to score twice.    But in the top half of the sixth, after Cale Reicks took first on a bunt and stole second, the Trojans found all kinds of ways to get on base.
Singles by Cody Hackman and Jaden Bruess, an error that left Josh Vsetecka at first, a walk to Evan Busta and a dropped third strike that put Kyle Langreck on all led to some Trojan runs.
