Seniors saddened by cancellation of spring activities

Entering this spring, seniors Lydia Gessner and Rachel Rinken were both hoping to wrap up their track careers with another appearance at the blue oval, while Morgan Nuss had her eyes set on the New Hampton girls golf team claiming a second consecutive state title. 
Unfortunately, by circumstances out of their control, they won’t have an opportunity to achieve these accolades.
On Friday, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) and Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) officially canceled spring sports due to the spread of the Coronavirus. This includes golf, soccer, tennis and track and field.
