Ruby and Al farmed near Nashua until 1969. They lived in Calmar and Independence before settling in Cresco.
During her time at home Ruby provided day care in her home. She loved to garden, bake, sew and quilt. She made many lap quilts and donated them to the hospital. Many of her quilts were donated to auction off at Ag Fest. She also brought home a blue ribbon from the Howard County Fair with one of her quilts. Ruby was so proud of her quilting accomplishments.
