Rita H. Kobliska, age 95 of Alta Vista, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at Colonial Manor in Elma.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Church in Elma with Father Mark Murphy celebrating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery at St. Cecelia.Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in Elma with a 4:30 p.m. Rosary and a 7 p.m. Scriptural Wake Service. Visitation will continue at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral mass on Monday. Online condolences for Rita’s family may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com. Memorials may be directed to the family.Rita Helen Kobliska was born at the family farm near North Washington on Dec. 11, 1920 to Ambrose and Clara (Zubrod) Kuehn. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in North Washington. Rita worked as a housekeeper for several years. She was united in marriage to Edward Kobliska on Nov. 10, 1941 at Immaculate Conception Church in North Washington. After their marriage, the couple made their home on a farm near Alta Vista. They farmed all their lives and raised nine children. Rita remained on the farm until entering Colonial Manor on March 18, 2016. She enjoyed farming, family, flowers, and gardening. She loved farm animals and her pets. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Cecelia Catholic Church and Rosary Society.Rita is survived by her children, Raymond (Marlys) Kobliska of Elma, D. (Greg) Holder of Tampa, Fla., Leonard (Dorothy) Kobliska of Raymond, John (Judy) Kobliska of Elma, Luci (Pete) Curtis of Evansdale, Vince (Joyce) Kobliska of Waterloo, Alice (Pat) O’Tool of Nora Springs, and Joan Kobliska of Alta Vista; her sister, Florine Boehmer of Mason City, her sister-in-law, Pat Kuehn of New Hampton and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward; her son, Clarence; her grandson, Darron and her brothers, Cletus, Clarence, and Leo Kuehn.
