New Hampton survives ‘fast’ Oelwein course to pick up win
Hickory Grove Golf Course in Oelwein has not always been the kindest to the New Hampton boys golf team, so coach Bill Glenn was just happy to get out of Oelwein with a win last Thursday.
“It’s been a difficult course for us,” Glenn said. “The greens are unlike any others we see. They’re big, they’re fast … and you never have a flat putt there.”
So while the score wasn’t great, Glenn will take his team’s 175-181 win over the Huskies in the Chickasaws’ penultimate meet of the regular season.
