New Hampton picks up three wins at Decorah
On the plus side, New Hampton claimed victories in three events had several runners come near or break personal records at the Decorah Invitational Monday night. On the other side of the ledger, though, there were times the Chickasaws’ inexperience showed. “It wasn’t the greatest of conditions,” New Hampton Scott Frerichs said about the cold and misty weather, “so we were happy with some of those times. Other times, we showed how young — especially in the relays — we are, but we’ll learn from that and move on.” The star of the night may have been junior Braydon Fisher, who ran to a victory in the 400 low hurdles in a career-best time of 58.77 seconds and took second in the 110 high hurdles with his first-ever sub-17 second run. New Hampton results from the meet may be found in the April 14 Tribune.
